Axie is the last of Ember's remaining family. Growing up mostly without his parents, Axie looks up to Ember both as a brother and a father. They live both as family and as best friends, with Ember showing him the ways of life, while also being each other's partner in every endeavor. Axie does not share the same level of sentiment his brother has concerning the normal life they shared with their parents before the fire, but a remnant of distorted memory holds a distant yet perpetual presence in his mind. Though ignorant of the magnitude of sorrow his brother carries, Axie is aware of what was, and remains missing in his life.

Though still very young, Axie is an outgoing and adventurous soul. He never shrinks away from exploring the outdoors, and he is especially good with animals. In his eyes, every beast and creature, flying and crawling, is a friend. His eagerness to move can make him a bit impatient, and has a bit of a temper when things refuse to go his way, but he always has Ember in his midst to balance him out. Axie can grow weary of Ember's occasional overprotectiveness, though he has good intentions. Much like his brother, Axie's heart lies close to home, so he's not the best suited in unfamiliar environments, and can be quite timid when uncomfortable or threatened by his surroundings. But much like any situation, he makes an effort to keep his brother close by wherever their journey may take them.
