Recently got a DS Lite.. I originally had planned to buy one off of Amazon but it was super overpriced. finally found one elsewhere in near-perfect condition. I already had a copy of Pokemon Ruby lying around the house so I already had a game to burn my time with. i also got Brain Age 2, which I had owned when I was a kid but lost the cartridge so i got a new one which was surprisingly very cheap. i can't believe i'm saying this but despite having a bunch of other consoles that can do much more than the DS, I cannot take my hands off of it. After getting my DS i didn't touch my Switch for like 3 whole weeks lol. overall form factor and design of the console is perfection,, i am a firm believer that this is one of if not Nintendo's best creation. and it helps all the more that I have many childhood memories with the DS so having it again after such a long time feels surreal. I don't have a ton of games for this thing just yet but I'm looking forward to the future with the DS.. all over again.

Damn 2020 was five years ago... Been thinking a lot about those times and the progression it took to get where I am now.. Those were a messy five years but there are small pockets within that span of time where it felt like I was living a second childhood.. everything felt so fun and brand new. Reminds me a lot of my early days back in 2009-12 when all I had was a DSi and some Mario games. Man the game lineup was insane. Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Pokemon, Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mega Man X/Zero, some old Wii games.. I'd spend late nights in the dark playing away for hours. Times like those come back to me and I realize that it wasn't all that bad. I don't see the future ever looking like that again and in a way I don't feel too bad about it because I love who I am much more than who I was back then, I definitely still had a lot of growing up to do. But those were some good times. I only wish i had more footage during that time because most of it is just committed to memory now, and in time those memories will fade away unfortunately..

Only thing I absolutely do NOT miss is my old art. Anything before 2022 makes me die of cringe. Well actually, there were some from 2019 that actually don't look all that bad to me.. somehow i find myself liking my art from 2019 a lot more than 2020 and 21.. but still my old art stings my soul
